22 September 2021- HANDOVER CEREMONY FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) AND RT-PCR COVID-19 TEST KITS CONTRIBUTED BY THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT

22 September 2021, personal protective equipment (PPE) and RT-PCR COVID-19 test kits contributed by the Australian Government to Brunei Darussalam arrived at Brunei International Airport. 

A handover ceremony was held at the airport, attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei Darussalam on behalf of the Government of Brunei Darussalam. Representing the Australian Government was Her Excellency Tiffany Anne McDonald, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam. 

Also in attendance were senior government officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam and representatives from the Australian High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan. 

Australia has continued to extend COVID-19 assistance to Brunei Darussalam. Australia donated COVID-19 laboratory equipment to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces for the Medical Reception Station (MRS) in Bolkiah Garrison in December 2020 as well as 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca Australian manufactured vaccines to Brunei Darussalam on 17 September 2021.
