It is advisable to contact the Consular Department for any consular related enquiries before coming to the High Commission.


2. POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE / CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT







All foreign nationals entering Brunei Darussalam must have visas obtainable from any Brunei Darussalam Diplomatic Mission abroad except for countries with whom Brunei Darussalam has visa arrangements. Click here for more information on the current visa arrangements with Brunei Darussalam.

Tourist / Visit Visa:
  • Original Passport of applicant (The passport must have a validity of more than 6 months from the date of departure and more than 4 blank pages);
  • One (1) Application form;
  • One (1) recent passport size photograph;
  • Covering letter from the applicant for application of visa and/or invitation/guarantee/sponsor letter from Brunei (Family/Friends);
  • Copy of confirmed air ticket or e-ticket receipt (Open ticket is not accepted);
  • Proof of accommodation/hotel booking in Brunei;
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support stay in Brunei (Recent bank statements);
  • Payment fee of BND$20 for single entry for each applicant. (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate);
  • Payment fee of BND$30 for multiple entry valid for three (3) months for each applicant. (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate).

Professional / Business Visa:
  • Original Passport of applicant (The passport must have a validity of more than 6 months from the date of departure and more than 4 blank pages);
  • One (1) Application form;
  • One (1) recent passport size photograph;
  • Covering letter from the applicant for application of visa and/or invitation/guarantee/sponsor letter from business counterpart in Brunei;
  • Copy of Letter of Authority issued from the Department of Immigration and National Registration;
  • Copy of confirmed air ticket or e-ticket receipt (Open ticket is not accepted);
  • Proof of accommodation/hotel booking in Brunei;
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support stay in Brunei (Recent bank statements);
  • Payment fee of BND$20 for single entry for each applicant. (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate);
  • Payment fee of BND$30 for multiple entry valid for three (3) months for each applicant. (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate).


Employment Visa:
  • Original Passport of applicant (The passport must have a validity of more than 6 months from the date of departure and more than 4 blank pages);
  • One (1) Application form;
  • One (1) recent passport size photograph;
  • Covering letter from the applicant for application of employment visa;
  • Copy of Letter of Authority issued from the Department of Immigration and National Registration;
  • Copy of offer letter from employer in Brunei;
  • Copy of confirmed air ticket or e-ticket receipt (Open ticket is not accepted);
  • Payment fee of BND$20 for single entry for each applicant. (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate).



Requirements:

  • An explanatory letter explaining the reason for requesting the Certificate with background of the applicant’s previous stay in Brunei Darussalam (i.e. full address of residence while in Brunei Darussalam, employer and employer’s address in Brunei Darussalam)
           The letter should be addressed to:

            COMMISSIONER OF ROYAL BRUNEI POLICE FORCE,
            GADONG POLICE HEADQUARTERS,
            PRIME MINISTERS OFFICE,
            BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN,
            BE1710,
            NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM.

            THROUGH:
            CONSULAR DEPARTMENT,
            HIGH COMMISSION OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM,
            19-20 BELGRAVE SQUARE,
            LONDON, SW1X 8PG,
            UNITED KINGDOM.

  • Two (2) copies of all pages of applicant’s current and previous passport
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Darussalam Identity Card (I.C)
  • Current correspondence address including email address and contact number.
  • Payment fee of BND$50 (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate).
  • One (1) self-addressed pre-paid envelope




Bruneian citizens who have lost their passport while visiting United Kingdom should apply for an emergency certificate (Sijil Darurat) through the High Commission as soon as possible.

The certificate is a one-way travel document to be used for return to Brunei Darussalam only.

Requirements:

  • An explanatory letter explaining the reason for requesting the Certificate;
  • One (1) application form;
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei passport;
  • Two (2) copies of police report;
  • Two (2) copies of Brunei Identity Card (both sides) or Identification Certificate;
  • Two (2) copies of birth certificate;
  • Letter of certification from present school/college/university (if studying) or employer (if working) [For those residing in United Kingdom];
  • Two (2) passport-sized photograph;
  • Flight itinerary;
  • Information on occupation, height, eye and hair colour must also be mentioned;
  • Payment fee of BND$20 (Payable in Pounds Sterling based on the Brunei Government current exchange rate)
  • One (1) self-addressed pre-paid envelope



For a child of Bruneian citizen born in the United Kingdom can also apply for an emergency certificate to be used for returning to Brunei Darussalam. The application as above should be submitted with the following additional documents:

  • Two (2) copies of parents’ passports;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ identity cards;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ birth certificates;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ marriage certificate.


A child born in United Kingdom whose father is a Brunei citizen should be reported and registered to the High Commission immediately. An application form for registration can be requested from the High Commission and should be returned complete with the following documents:

  • An explanatory letter from the father addressed to the Department of Immigration and National Registration, Brunei Darussalam stating the reason for being in United Kingdom (including supporting documents)
  • Two (2) copies of child’s Certificate of Birth and Certified Copy of an Entry (Pursuant to the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953)
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ passports;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ identity cards;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ birth certificates;
  • Two (2) copies of parents’ marriage certificate.

If an issuance of certification of citizenship is required, the above application should be submitted with the following documents:

  • Two (2) copies of completed Form A1
  • Two (2) copies of completed Form D
  • Letter of certification from present school/college/university (if studying) or employer (if working) [For those residing in United Kingdom]
